Interesting Facts About The Grinch
The Grinch wasn’t always green.
He was originally drawn in black and white by Dr. Seuss and later made green by Chuck Jones, the director of the 1966 TV cartoon
There are a bunch of hidden Dr. Seuss references throughout the 2000 movie.
You can find a statue of Horton from Horton Hears a Who and a helping of green eggs and ham amongst other Easter eggs.
It took three hours each day for Jim Carrey to get ready in his costume. He underwent torture training to endure the lengthy makeup process.
Max, the Grinch’s dog, was played by six different dogs. Kelly, Chip, Topsy, Stella, Zelda, and Bo teamed up to be Max.
The main one appearing in all the close-up shots is Kelly.
The Grinch has been portrayed in several different ways. It has been adapted into an animated television featurette in 1966, the 2000 live-action feature comedy film.
There also ls is a video game based on the film, a Broadway show, and more.
Dr. Seuss drove a car with the license plate “GRINCH.” His wife and widow Audrey kept the plate going after he died in 1991.
Before Jim Carrey was cast as the Grinch, there were other possibilities. Eddie Murphy and Jack Nicholson were both considered for the role.
