Interesting Facts About Star Wars You Didn’t Know

  • When Star Wars first came out in 1978, many movie theaters didn’t want to show it because they didn’t think it would be a dud and there were too many other hit summer movies coming out.
  • Yoda was originally going to be played by an actual monkey, rather than a puppet created by Frank Oz.
  • Yoda’s name was originally going to be Buffy!
  • Did you happen to notice the cameo appearances of Bill Hader, Simon Pegg, and Daniel Craig in The Force Awakens?
  • Keep your eye out the next time you watch.
  • During filming in the Redwood Forest in California, Chewbacca had to be protected by bodyguards wearing bright orange vests.
  • This is because hunters could have easily mistaken him for a bear.
  • Benecio Del Toro was originally supposed to play Darth Maul, but dropped out.
Porg wasn’t originally in the script for the The Last Jedi movie. He was written in because they were filming on an island in Ireland that has lots of puffins and they kept walking on camera during filming.
  • They weren’t part of the story, but they couldn’t get rid of them, so having Porg as a character gave logic to the want-to-be puffin actor extras.
  • The actor who played Chewbacca, Peter Mayhew, is 7’ 3” tall.

If you want to watch the entire Star Wars series in chronological order of the stories, here is the order to watch them:
