How To Use A Printable Alien Pumpkin Carving Pattern PDF
First, the size and shape may dictate which pattern you can use. For the most part, you can play with the size because you can scale this in your printer settings.
There’s a lot of flexibility there. You don’t have much flexibility if the pumpkin pattern you love is very tall and narrow but the pumpkin you chose is wide and shorter.
So it’s best to select your pattern before you get your pumpkin if you want complete control over your design options.
Another idea is to use craft pumpkins instead of real ones. There are carvable foam ones that work great with carving patterns.
If you decide to get a foam pumpkin, here’s a tutorial for how to carve one using a pumpkin carving pattern.
But since we have 15 different owl stencils, I’m confident that no matter what, you’ll find one you love that is perfect for your pumpkin.
Okay, so next. You will tape the pattern to your pumpkin using blue tape. Then, I find it easiest to use a thumb tack to poke holes into the paper and trace the outer edge of the design
It’s the grey areas that you will carve away. Once you have holes poked through the paper and into your pumpkin, you will have a nice outline of the shape, and you can remove the PDF paper.
Now it’s time to carve the pumpkin. Just follow the lines and remember to cut the grey areas.
Printing an extra copy of your alien carving pattern may be helpful to reference it while carving.
When you finish, add a tea light or battery-powered candle and place your carved pumpkin on the front porch.
