Tips For How To Paint Rocks For Halloween
The paint pens
Rather than use a permanent marker, use acrylic or oil paint pens (also called paint markers).
These will resist fading far better than a permanent marker. Paint pens are also great for adding details but additionally can be used to paint large areas
However, a paint brush will get the job done quickly when you want a full base coat.
The oil pens tend to be more durable, but you aren’t able to clean up as easily. Removal will require acetone or mineral spirits.
On the other hand, the acrylic paints and paint pens are wipeable and especially easy to clean with soapy water.
The rocks
When choosing rocks for painting, river rocks are a great choice because these are typically very smooth rocks.
They are often sold by the bag and come in various sizes and shapes.
While round stones are best for many projects, the angular and other odd-shaped ones can be great for projects like painted animal rocks.
